Playing with Polymer clay

I tried my hand at polymer clay when I was away from home. I had to keep busy. It was a lot of fun but all so a lot of work. I have a new appreciation for polymer clay artists. Thought I show you my beads I made. I can't wait to get on the torch today.I have color combo's I want to try hearts that need to be made. Four days to play with glass and just enjoy my home. I am a happy camper. Happy New Year!

HELLO

Hope everyone had a nice holiday. I did I was two weeks out on my bilateral mastectomy and was feeling good. We came home on Christmas evening. It was so good to be home. Yesterday I made some beads for an order I got last week. I wasn't sure I would be able to do it but I surprised my self and made some very cute beads. I forgot my camera so I can't take pictures so you can see. We leave tomorrow for follow up appt. on Tuesday. Hope to get home again after my oncology appt. 1/5. Happy New Year Pam

p.s.. computer in the trailer will not let me comment on blogs I have seen some very nice beads and jewelry in blog land.

Happy Day after Thanksgiving

With a house full and teenagers on the computer I didn't get a chance to say Happy Gobble Gobble Day. Hope every one had a nice dinner and good company. My Tuesday appt. didn't go as I planned. I was sure he was going to tell me when to start radiation but no I got an appointment with the oncology department next week. I have to have more surgery as they didn't get clean edges and further testing showed cancer cells in the lymph node. The best part I have 10 days at home to make beads, take long walks, enjoy the crisp air, read blogs, and try to relax. Then deal with what ever come my way as far as treatment is concern. Just a bigger hurtle to get over. Because I am dancing at all my grandkids wedding.

HEATHER

Earthy colors in the last bracelet I made. Etched amber and light purple lampwork and a raku on discontinue ask glass. silver spacers and glass beads from Michael's. I don't have a Michael's where I live so I am like a kid in a candy store when I go there.

INDUSTRIAL

Simple bracelet made out of these cool gray beads from Michael's and one silvered red lampwork bead. Bracelet looks heavy but is so light. I really like this one.

A TOUCH OF LIME

This bracelet is made with 3 of my rock shape mixed colored beads in greens,orange,creams and blue. Dark wood carved beads from Michael's and tile beads and glass green beads from my favorite bead store in San Mateo, The beading Frenzy.

PINK RESIN AND LAMPWORK BEAD BRACELET

Two days after my surgery my wonderful husband took me to BABE bead show in Oakland. I got these Hot pink resin beads. I paired them with sterling silver spacers and my lampwork beads. I didn't see all the booths as I got tired fast but was glad I went. Other finds were crimp covers, sterling silver spacers sterling silver clasps and more resin beads in green.

BREAST CANCER

I am home for few days before starting 6 weeks of radiation. I was very lucky it was small and only in one lymph node. I am not able to comment on any blogs with my lap top computer. I saw some beautiful work from a lot of you. As you can guess I am away from home getting treatment. We came home for the week-end. I have a few bracelets I put together so I will get them up tomorrow. I even got some polymer clay to play with as I have to keep busy. I was to sore to play with the clay after the surgery. But when the radiation starts I hope to play around with it. Hope to get home a few week-ends. I will keep you posted on my creations. Pam

Sorry for being away so long had many doctors appointments. Now the waiting game begins. I am hopefully sure everything will be OK. Yesterday when I got home I made this cute bracelet and lots of beads. Will show those later. I need to start putting things up on etsy. I think is time to put all the Christmas beads up. Going to sit at the torch with black and white and clear glass and see how many beads I can make using just those colors. I find those colors great for the holidays too.

PRETTY PENDANTS WITH PRETTY RIBBON

I made these pendants to match the pretty ribbon. I think they look great together. I was trying to make reasonable priced pendants for a show. I didn't cut the ribbon yet I would like to get 2 pendants with one ribbon. Going to our local bead store to see what clasps would work with ribbon. If anyone in blog land know of good clasps for cord and ribbon I would love to hear from you.

The bracelet was made with silk cord and chain and a lot of wire wrapped beads in pinks and purples. There are some hearts from Chinook Jewelry. I love how this bracelet looks and feels on your wrist.

GYPSY GIRL

I love this necklace. Simple cord knotted with silver spacers and lampwork beads the focal is worn on the side for nice look. These beads were in my etsy shop for a while. I don't think people know what to do with my big splash disk. So I made a few necklaces. The next necklace was made with waxed linen cord wood beads seed beads my splash disk bead and other lampwork beads. The clasp I made with half round 18 ga sterling silver wire coiled as a toggle.

ANTIQUE TAPESTRY

This cute bracelet has one of my lampwork flower bead with gun metal beads and small jasper beads. Sounds like a heavy bracelet but its very light.

PURPLE DOT BEADS

This cute pair of beads are etched with shiny dots. I put elmer"s glue for the dots after they came out of the kiln then etched and washed off the dots so the shiny part shows up. I made a few sets that will be on etsy later. Maybe try a scroll next time.

WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR GLASS SHORTS?

Sue from Sue Beads asked what do lampworkers do with our glass shorts. She got a lots of good tips. I told her about my picture frame I made with my shorts and I added some wonkie beads but I needed them to be flat so I put back on a mandrel slowly put back into the flame got hot and put it into a tea strainer put up to a cool fan and it cracked in half. I glued them on a cheap wood frame with the shorts and used basic mosaic technique. Thats my 2 year old granddaughter in the picture that was 6 years ago. We just got back from watching her soccer game. We live three hours away so I won't see every game which makes me sad. I love watching her play.

MURRINI FOCALS

I had fun at the torch this weekend made some large focals with hand pulled ribbon cane and murrini chips from Shard Factory on etsy and Aveanue Beads. I added dichroic glass on one, thats  my favorite. They take a lot longer to make but it was fun.  I should of poked the murrini on some.What do you think?

GARDEN BEFORE AND AFTER

See the pumpkin We have 5 in there. The corn is almost ready. Tomatoes I don't know what is going on with them had a lot of red tomatoes three weeks ago but lots of green ones now. It's been getting colder at night I wonder if that has anything to do with it. I have enjoyed the garden until I saw the King snake. I tend to be a little garded when I pick the vegetables. Hope everyone had a great week-end.

Down the street from me there was this sign that said CERAMIC mind you I live far from anything so I was thinking lets take a class. I wanted to make pendants using up some frit I have. 

It was all an experament with cute results. I think transparent glasses looks  better. What do you think?

I have been working on the holiday beads and fall colors. I am usually a day late and a dollar short so I started early this year. When is it time to put holiday beads up? I hate to put up too early it turns people off but all the fairs and shows for the holidays are starting in September.

  The beautiful ribbon took center stage when I wrapped sterling silver wire with pearls,crystals and seed beads to make a bead in it self. The soft blue in the Muse Lillypilly Design pendant I matched with my blue etched lampwork beads. I paired them with square purple etched beads from a local bead store. Sterling Silver wire wrapped the beads added silver chain and a Sterling Silver handmade clasp.

LOCKET OF LOVE

SUMMER FUN

     This week-end my friend came up for a visit, my granddaughter was here too. We went to the Amador County Fair. It was a lot of fun my friend doesn't mind going on the rides so Ta'Neal was happy. We also saw a rodeo. Bull riding and all. Made homemade Strawberry Jam. Planted a rock garden. Went swimming in the kiddie pool.  Today I played at the torch, Its not that hot today so I wasn't dripping sweat all over the place. Sorry about the visual on that.

      Will post some beads on etsy later today. I got some new tools from cgbeads.com they are beadrollers that help you make the same size bead every time 

     I have to bring the dog to the vet later as he has a big bald spot under his chin that he keeps playing with. He cut himself on something two weeks ago it didn't seen like a big deal but last night he scratched it raw. Have a nice day

The first set is copper green base color with a  stringer of copper green,opal yellow,EDP and turquoise random design.

Set two fall colors 2 rock shape 2 rounds of striking glass that came out with lots of rich browns and golds. It's a nice combination.

A Bracelet for Eleanor

My friend Eleanor is getting this bracelet in the mail Just to say I was thinking of her. Its made with 8 lampwork beads, chain and a resin E.

Copper Green Beauties

I just love this new set of beads. Copper green base with handmade stringer of copper green,petroleum green,lapis blue,turquoise. Then I randomly place on copper green base and etched. The bottom set is dark purple with the same stringer design. I like how these came out. I am going to put up on my etsy store today.

Playing with Resin

The bookmarks are from Beaducation I added my hydrangeas flowers and resin. The bezel's  one has little bits of dichroic glass for some sparkle. There is a bead and key in the other one but you can't see the bead. My first try at this I put the wrong stuff to fill in the hole for hanging and the resin poured out and the stuck to my table. They were fun.

The bracelet I used etched vintage white and violet beads with silver spacers 3 of my  purple etched lampwork beads. Sterling silver clasp I got at San Mateo Gem show a few years back. I like the look.

Garden 7/17

The garden!!!!! Oh the best yellow squash I have ever eaten. We made stuffed Zucchini that was super. The tomatoes are still green. The deer got there head inside of the fence and ate half of the tomatoes. I should say they ate the greens and dropped the tomatoes on the ground. So Joe and I are going to move them in a little. They are to heavy to do myself. 

     I have lots of new beads that will be in my etsy shop this weekend. I am going to have my 50 Cent Sunday Sale to get rid of one of a kind beads or extras from sets. Expired beads from etsy will be grouped together for extra savings. So stop buy.
